Samples to the 2D Profile Analysis and 3D Evaluation

Point analysis:

Zoom Maximum Search
Within an outline the coordinates of a peak value are to be determined. Within the search range extreme values of same amplitude were found: The maximum value is defined as center position.

Line analysis:

Zoom Determination of the line area
Within an outline the range of a line section is to be determined. It should be the "straight" part within the selected cutout.
Zoom Determination of a flank section
Within an outline cutout the range of the most destinct descending flank has to be detected. A flank is characterised by the fact that in the vertical process only few points were measured, e.g. during optical data acquisition (line camera).

Circle analysis:

Zoom Calculation of a circle section (Roundness)
The cross section outline of a loudspeaker was measured with high resolution. Within the central site the middle radius and the deviation of roundness was calculated. The deviation of roundness is defined as the smallest distance of two centric circles (minimum error squares, cladding condition), which include all points.
Zoom Concentricity of two circle sections

The outline of a seal was measured. First the center of the upper sector of a circle was determined (roundness). Relative to this point of reference the difference of the smallest and largest radius of the lower circle sector was calculated. This difference defines the deviation of concentricity  to the upper circle sector.

2D-Contour Analysis:

Zoom Determination of a curve radius
Within a corner cutout the curve radius has to be calculated. The flanks of the corner area and the circle section must form a continuous line.

3D-Analysis (Shape and Position Tolerance):

The deformation of a cylinder was computed with the program ABAQUS (FEM, finite element method) and the 3D result file were imported.

Zoom Determination of the runout of a cylinder

After centring of the cylinder the smallest outside radius and the largest internal radius of two circles were computed, that all points of all cylinder panes were included. The difference of the radii is defined as the runout to the related z-axis at the point x=0, y=0.
Zoom Presentation of a circle deformation (Polar co-ordinates)
After centring and selection of a cylinder pane the radii are spent over the circumference (0..360°).

Zoom Determination of straightness of a cylinder lateral edge line
A lateral edge line is selected and the deviation of straightness is measured. The deviation of straightness is defined as the smallest distance of two straight lines parallel to the regression line (minimum error squares), which includes all points.
